McPherson, 64, of Las Vegas, then sold the oxycodone pills on the street for $30 each.
Agents recovered 2,449 oxycodone pills during the investigation, and they used court-approved wiretaps. Undercover agents bought oxycodone directly from McPherson, according to prosecutors. Prosecutors also claim that McPherson boastingly referred to himself as a dealer and bragged that his operation was the equivalent of organized crime. All six defendants were indicted on one felony count each of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. “Persons who are buying prescription drugs from patients and re-selling them for profit are drug dealers, plain and simple, and will be investigated and prosecuted by the federal government,” Nevada U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
